Our Story—Over Two Decades of Flowers, Memories, and Trust in Clayton

Since the early 2000s, Flowers by the Neuse has been part of the Clayton community, sharing in some of the most important moments of families' lives. Over the years, each owner has helped build and continue the story of this local flower shop.

Records trace the history of Flowers by the Neuse back to the year 2000 with Tammy Murphy, followed by Beth Williams, who continued to develop the shop and its presence in Downtown Clayton. A new chapter began in 2009 with Billy Shaw and Jimmy Hill, who served the community for many years.

In 2011, Honoria began her own floral journey working at Flowers by the Neuse. Years of experience, learning, and a passion for floral design eventually led her back to where she started. When Billy and Jimmy decided to retire in 2023, Honoria had the opportunity to carry on the legacy of Flowers by the Neuse and begin a new chapter for the shop.

Today, Flowers by the Neuse continues to grow and evolve, yet it retains something that has endured all these years: the trust of our customers. Some have been with the shop for generations, still sharing memories of arrangements created by previous owners for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, and other special occasions.

That trust is part of our history and the reason we are still here. We are committed to continuing the journey of Flowers by the Neuse by blending tradition with fresh ideas, creative designs, and personal service, ensuring that new generations of Clayton families can also let us be a part of their most special and meaningful moments.
